1. Introduction to the training program, duration of training, and degree awarded.

1.1. Introduction to the field:

The Construction Materials Technology (CMA) ngành provides in-depth training in the production technology, application, and quality control of various construction materials; research and development of new materials and high-performance materials to meet the increasingly diverse needs in architecture and construction, aiming for sustainable development.

Training objectives: To train competent civil engineers in the field of Construction Materials Technology:

- Selecting, using rationally, and controlling the quality of construction materials increases the efficiency of the project;

- Designing, managing, and operating production lines for building materials such as concrete, cement, glass, and building ceramics, etc.

- Capable of researching and developing new materials, manufacturing technologies, and construction methods for new materials.

1.2. Training and certification time:

Graduates are awarded an engineering degree equivalent to level 7 according to the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework, with a design training period of 5 years.

2. Knowledge and skills acquired after graduation

- Applying knowledge of mathematics, basic sciences, fundamental principles of engineering, technological and management solutions, and skills to conceive, design, implement, and operate production lines and systems for building materials; analyzing technical requirements and characteristics and efficiently utilizing building materials; researching, developing, and manufacturing new materials;

- Possess personal, professional, communication, teamwork skills, and foreign language proficiency to ensure effective work in a dynamic social context and an interdisciplinary, multicultural, and multinational work environment;

- Possessing relevant knowledge of economics, politics, society, and law; having the ability and willingness to commit to professional ethics and lifelong learning in order to make effective contributions to the sustainable development of society and the community;

- Career development opportunities are available in the construction sector in general and related specialized fields, such as pursuing further education and obtaining professional certifications and licenses domestically and internationally; and postgraduate training programs in the relevant specialization.

4. Job opportunities

Each year, the demand for engineers in the Construction Materials Technology field is approximately 200, with 70-80 engineers receiving direct recruitment notices from the University. According to 2019 statistics, within one year of graduation, over 96% of engineers found employment in the construction industry, and most held the following positions:

- Providing consulting, supervision, management, and quality control services for materials and construction work in building projects;

- Technical and managerial staff at factories producing building materials such as: concrete, cement, building ceramics, building glass, etc.

- Trading and manufacturing building materials;

- Providing design consultancy and technology transfer for the production of various building materials suitable for actual needs and the development strategy of the building materials industry;

- Faculty and scientific researchers at training institutions, institutes, and research centers specializing in building materials;

- Officials working at state management agencies in charge of construction materials.
