With over 60 years of training and 50 years of development, the University of Civil Engineering (UCE) is proud to be the first institution in the country to train engineers in the field of Construction Materials Technology. The Construction Materials Technology ngành (field of study) provides in-depth training in the production technology, application, and quality control of various construction materials; research and development of new and high-performance materials to meet the increasingly diverse needs in architecture and construction. The field's scientific research focuses on: Research to improve the properties of construction materials; Research and development of new materials with special properties; Manufacturing equipment and perfecting construction material production technology to improve material quality; and research on the use of waste materials and local materials to produce construction materials for sustainable development.

Training model based on the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework

To meet the requirements of international integration, since 2020, the Construction Materials Engineering program under the Faculty of Construction Materials - University of Civil Engineering has begun to implement a flexible training model based on the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework. The training program is built using the CDIO (Conceive - Design - Implement - Operate) approach to equip students with the knowledge and skills to meet the increasingly high demands of society, specifically:

The bachelor's degree program is designed to last four years and comprises 130 credits.

Engineering level (newly graduated engineers), Master's degree : training time 5-5.5 years, additional learning load of 60 credits compared to the Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications: Graduates of each training program will be awarded the corresponding degree: Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Master of Engineering in Construction Materials Technology.

Abundant job opportunities, attractive income.

Up to 95% of graduates find jobs in their field of study with an average income ranging from 10 to 20 million VND per month. The recruitment demand for the Construction Materials Technology ngành is approximately 200 people per year, with 30% of them being directly referred by the Faculty to partner businesses such as construction materials manufacturing and trading companies, construction and supervision consulting companies, research institutes, and state management agencies. Notably, students studying Construction Materials Technology have many opportunities to choose to pursue other majors concurrently within the university or continue their studies for master's or doctoral degrees domestically or abroad, with numerous scholarship programs available.
