SPORTS ACTIVITIES SERIES OF FACULTY STAFF CELEBRATING NOV 20

The arts and sports movement has always been considered one of the strengths and traditions of the Trade Union of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. Among these, the series of sports activities held on Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20th) stands out. It can be said that this is one of the activities that receives the most participation and support from the university's staff and faculty, with the Faculty of Construction Materials consistently having the largest number of participating staff and the most competitive events.
As usual, this year the University's Trade Union is organizing sports competitions including: football, tennis, tug-of-war, table tennis, badminton, and chess. The football competition will begin on October 2nd at Den Lu 3 football field with a round-robin format between 8 teams; the tennis competition will be held on November 12th at Quan Hoa - Cau Giay stadium; and the remaining competitions will take place on November 13th at the University's gymnasium. This year, the team from the Faculty of Construction Materials will participate in the following events: football (a joint team with the Faculty of Environment and the Department of Physical Education, named MTV), tennis, table tennis, badminton, and chess. A special feature of this year's competition is that the 7th (final) round of football, taking place on November 19th, will be held at the University's football field at campus 2 in Ha Nam. This news was arguably the most "shocking" and exciting, not only for the athletes but also for the fans of the participating teams throughout the tournament.
The series of sporting events was incredibly engaging, intense, and dramatic, all played in a spirit of unity and sportsmanship. At the end of the tournament, the MTV combined football team finished in 4th place and also won the "STYLE" award. This is a better achievement than in previous years, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic, when team members were unable to train and compete together regularly. In other events, the Faculty of Construction Materials team set a record with all participating athletes winning medals, including two gold medals (chess by Mr. Bui Danh Dai and mixed doubles table tennis by Mr. Tran Duc Trung and Ms. Vu Thi Duc Hanh - Office of the Party and Union) along with many silver and bronze medals in other events. In the game of Chinese chess, this is the third consecutive year that Mr. Bui Danh Dai has won the championship.
