1. General Introduction:
The Faculty's Trade Union is an organization representing the legitimate rights and interests of its members; it is also a core force in building solidarity, promoting a sense of responsibility, and improving the material and spiritual lives of all its members.
Currently, the Faculty's Trade Union has 35 members, with 4 affiliated union branches.
The Faculty's Trade Union Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term consists of 3 members:
- Mr. Nguyen Van Dong - Chairman; Head of the Construction Materials Technology Trade Union Branch
- Mr. Tran Le Hong - Member; Head of the Construction Materials Technology Trade Union Branch
- Mr. Nguyen Van Binh - Member; Head of the Construction Materials Research & Testing Department Trade Union Branch
2. Functions and Tasks
: - To disseminate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and the tasks of the Trade Union organization. Education to improve political, cultural, legal, scientific, technical, and professional skills.
- Inspect and supervise the implementation of regulations, policies, and laws, ensuring the protection of the rights of union members, officials, civil servants, and employees in the school. Combat negativity, corruption, and social evils. - Identify and participate in resolving complaints
and denunciations, settling labor disputes, and exercising the rights of the grassroots trade union as stipulated by law.
- Coordinate with the Faculty Management Board to implement the Regulations on Democracy, organize conferences for officials and employees of the agency/unit; appoint representatives to participate in councils that review and resolve the rights of union members, officials, civil servants, and employees.
- Organizing and mobilizing staff and faculty members in the Faculty to participate in patriotic emulation, fulfilling the duties of cadres, civil servants, and employees in managing the agency and unit, improving working methods and administrative procedures to enhance the quality and efficiency of work.
- Developing union membership and building a strong grassroots trade union.
3. Results of Activities
In the past period, under the guidance of the University's Trade Union and the attention and support of the Faculty's leadership, the Faculty's Trade Union activities have achieved many outstanding results. The Trade Union has focused on implementing practical emulation movements such as the "Excellent Worker - Creative Worker" emulation movement and the "Building a School-Oriented Institution" movement. It has also promoted administrative reform, contributing to improving the efficiency of professional work and building a professional and friendly pedagogical environment.
The trade union regularly organizes activities to care for the lives of lecturers and staff: visiting members in difficult circumstances, providing timely support during illness, bereavement, and celebrations; organizing cultural and sports programs to create a healthy environment and strengthen interaction and cohesion among union branches. Many social welfare and charitable activities are also effectively implemented, demonstrating a sense of responsibility to the community.
Political and ideological education is promoted through the dissemination of new policies and guidelines of the Party and State; encouraging members to comply with the unit's regulations and rules; and participating in training courses to improve professional skills and expertise. The trade union also plays a supervisory and critical role, participating in the development of internal regulations; ensuring the rights, working conditions, and occupational safety and health of its members.
With a spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and innovation, the Faculty's Trade Union has been affirming its important role in motivating lecturers, staff, and workers to work with peace of mind and contribute positively to the sustainable development of the Faculty and the University. In the coming time, the Faculty's Trade Union will continue to build on its achievements, promote digital transformation, and build an increasingly strong Trade Union, truly becoming a reliable support for lecturers, staff, and workers.
