RISING HIGH IN CONSTRUCTION
The "Super Team" won second prize in the "Reach Higher in Construction 2022" competition.
BTT, Department of Building Materials
"Reaching High in Construction" is the name of an annual competition organized by the Youth Union of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. In 2022, the competition's theme was "Reaching Further." The competition aims to create a vibrant competitive spirit, encourage students' love of learning, creativity, and academic excellence, and provide a valuable learning platform, affirming the quality of the university's training.
After two years of disruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year the competition returned with the participation of nearly 30 teams from both within and outside the university. The teams' task was to design a structural model for load testing using materials provided by the organizing committee. There was no limit to the number of teams, each consisting of 5-8 members. The structural model could only be made from materials provided by the organizing committee during the competition. The time allotted for model creation was 240 minutes.
Representing the students of the Faculty of Construction Materials, the "Super Team" with their 150.4cm long load-bearing bridge model successfully passed the static load test with a weight of 35kg, ranking 6th after the first round. This made them one of the 11 teams to advance to the second round.
In the second round, the "Dynamic Load Test," the Super Team's model conquered a weight of 25kg, ranking second overall.
At the end of the competition, the "Super Team" excellently won second place overall. This was also the first time the team members participated in the competition. This achievement further affirms the brand and prestige of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering in general , and the Faculty of Construction Materials in particular.
