LAUNCHING PROJECT 8.3 WALCODEVIET: HIGH-QUALITY RECYCLED MATERIALS.
MINISTER – PRIME MINISTER OF THE FRENCH-SPEAKING BELGIUM VISITS AND WORKS AT HANOI UNIVERSITY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING; LAUNCHES PROJECT 8.3 WALCODEVIET: HIGH-QUALITY RECYCLED MATERIALS.
At the welcoming ceremony, Associate Professor Pham Duy Hoa, Rector of the University, delivered a welcoming speech to Mr. Pierre-Yves Jeholet, Minister-President of the French-speaking Belgian Community, on his visit to Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.
The ceremony was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement for the WalCoDeViet Project (Technology Transfer Program) – High-Quality Recycled Materials: establishing a channel for recovering construction and demolition waste in Vietnam, witnessed by the Minister-President, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Vietnam, and representatives from the Wallonie-Bruxelles Regional Government and the French-speaking Belgian Community (Wallonie-Bruxelles). This is one of the projects approved by representatives of both governments, with the implementing agency on the Wallonie-Bruxelles side being the University of Liege, and the implementing agency on the Vietnamese side being Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.
Presentations on the experiences of Belgium and Europe in handling and recycling construction and industrial waste, and the current status of industrial and construction solid waste management in Vietnam, were given respectively by the WalCoDeViet Project Coordinators from Belgium and Vietnam.
