40TH ANNIVERSARY OF VIETNAMESE TEACHERS DAY
CEREMONY COMMEMORATING THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF VIETNAMESE TEACHERS' DAY (20/11/1982-20/11/2022) AND AWARDING OF AWARDS AND COMMENDATIONS FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR
On November 18, 2022, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2022) and presented awards and commendations for the 2021-2022 academic year. Prior to the ceremony, the university's leadership and staff laid wreaths in remembrance of People's Teacher Nguyen Sanh Dan – the beloved teacher and Rector of many generations of faculty, staff, and students of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.
Attendees included: Dr. Nguyen Ngoc An – Member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, President of the Vietnam Education Trade Union; Ms. Le Thi Mai Oanh – Head of the Policy and Legal Affairs Department of the Vietnam Education Trade Union. Representing Hanoi University of Civil Engineering were: Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thi - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Nhu Khai - Former Rector; Dr. Le Van Thanh - Former Secretary of the Party Committee, former Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ung Quoc Dung - Former Secretary of the Party Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tan - Former Chairman of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Hac; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Truc; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Anh - Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tung - Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang - Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Ngoc Khoa - Chairman of the University's Trade Union; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Hoi - Chairman of the Association of Retired Teachers; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Bao - Chairman of the Veterans Association; Prof. Dr. Phan Quang Minh - Director of the University of Construction Consulting Company Limited and other staff and faculty members of the university.
In his opening remarks, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Duy Hoa reviewed the origins of the traditional Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20th, while honoring and commending the teachers and staff of the University throughout the generations. On behalf of the university leadership, Professor Pham Duy Hoa extended his best wishes to the leaders, distinguished guests, and all teachers, staff, and individuals who achieved outstanding results in the past academic year. At the beginning of this academic year, the University opened its Ha Nam campus, a significant milestone in the development of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. The Rector also recalled the difficulties and severe impacts caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which have prevented the University from implementing its autonomy process. He expressed confidence that with the efforts of all staff, lecturers, employees, and students, the University will be able to achieve its goals. With favorable socio-economic conditions and state management, "the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering will confidently sail out into the open sea on its own."

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa - Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University of Civil Engineering, delivered a speech at the ceremony.
Mr. Ngo Kim Tuan, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, on behalf of the university's youth, delivered a congratulatory speech to the teachers and shared his feelings that wherever they go, the students of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering will always cherish beautiful memories and express their gratitude to their teachers. On behalf of the Youth Union, the Student Association, and all students, Mr. Ngo Kim Tuan presented bouquets of flowers to Mr. Pham Duy Hoa, the Rector of the University, Mr. Nguyen Dang Hac, and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truc to express their deep gratitude and respect for all generations of teachers at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.
Mr. Ngo Kim Tuan, M.Sc. - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, on behalf of the youth of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, presented flowers to express gratitude to the teachers.
Following the ceremony, Mr. Pham Van Du, Head of the General Administration Department, announced the decisions to award emulation titles and commendations at various levels to collectives and individuals of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering for the 2021-2022 academic year. Among them, the Faculty of Building Materials was honored with the title of Excellent Labor Collective, five faculty members received the Commemorative Medal for the Cause of Education, and four faculty members received Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training.
Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Teacher Pham Duy Hoa - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector - presented the "For the Cause of Education" commemorative medal to individuals who have made significant contributions to the country's education and training.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thi - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council, and Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang - Vice Rector of the School, presented Certificates of Commendation from the Minister of Education and Training to four individuals who have made significant contributions to building the institution and contributing to the development of education.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thi – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council and Associate Professor Dr. Ho Ngoc Khoa – Chairman of the School's Trade Union presented the title of Outstanding Labor Collective for the 2021-2022 academic year to 18 collectives.
The 40th anniversary celebration of Vietnamese Teachers' Day at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering concluded in a joyful and warm atmosphere. With honor and pride, every staff member, lecturer, and student of the University will continuously strive to contribute to the development of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, aiming to reach for greater heights and expand internationally.
