Dr. Nguyen Cong Thang has been a lecturer in the department since 2019. He received his Master's and Doctoral degrees in Construction Materials Technology in 2010 and 2017 from the University of Construction.

- Research focuses on various types of concrete (lightweight concrete, high-strength concrete, ultra-high-strength concrete, and special concretes and advanced, smart materials, etc.).
- Recycling of agricultural and industrial waste, and utilizing locally sourced materials in the production of building materials.
- Energy-efficient building materials with low greenhouse gas emissions.
AWARDS AND RECOGNITION


- The Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering awarded a Certificate of Merit to a union member for outstanding achievements in the "Scientific Research and Technology Transfer" movement.
- Honoring IPSTAR 2023 Invention Stars: TOP 15 applicants are individuals with the most patent/utility model applications filed between January 2016 and August 2023, TECHFEST.
- The Minister of Education and Training awarded a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in 2023 and 2024.

- Patent No.: Lightweight concrete with hollow aggregate, high-strength recycled polystyrene combined with cenosphere and nano silica oxide, and a method for manufacturing this lightweight concrete with hollow aggregate. No.: 35932, granted under Decision No.: 26368/QD-SHTT.ip, dated May 4, 2023.
