CREATIVE SPACE DESIGN WITH EFFECT PAINT COMPETITION

The “Creative Space Design with Effect Paint” Competition, sponsored primarily by Công ty Sơn Hiệu Ứng CONPA Việt Nam and organized for the Faculty of Building Materials, has officially concluded with many outstanding results.
The program was designed to provide students with a practical and creative environment, while also promoting the integration between architectural design and finishing materials in real-world construction applications.
Preliminary Round: Exceeding Expectations and Promoting Design Thinking
Immediately after its launch, the competition received an overwhelming response, forcing the Organizing Committee to close registration after just 48 hours due to the number of participating teams exceeding initial expectations.
In this round, teams were required to propose a design for a multifunctional wall that could both serve as a space for hanging personal items during laboratory use and maintain aesthetic value as a decorative feature when not in use.
Despite coinciding with the semester examination period, 9 out of 10 teams successfully completed their designs on schedule. The preliminary round showcased numerous innovative ideas, highlighting students’ abilities in material thinking and spatial composition. The preliminary jury selected three teams with the most outstanding design proposals to advance to the final round.

Final Round: Product Construction and Public Voting
The three teams advancing to the final round proceeded to the stage of constructing their designs into real products. This process was supported by academic guidance from lecturers of the Chemistry Division, the Architectural Technology Division, and representatives of Công ty CONPA.
Upon completion, the Organizing Committee launched an online voting system to capture feedback and engagement from both students and faculty members. Voting scores were calculated based on the number of likes, reactions, and public shares of the product images.
