Introduction to Building Materials Technology Division

Introduction to the Construction Materials Technology Professional Group:
The Construction Materials Technology Professional Group was established on August 25, 2025, based on the former Department of Construction Materials Technology. The Construction Materials Technology Professional Group is responsible for teaching foundational and specialized courses at the undergraduate level in Construction Materials Technology, Materials Engineering, and Industrial Logistics, as well as many postgraduate courses in Materials Engineering and Advanced Materials. The Construction Materials Technology Professional Group has made significant contributions to the training of technical personnel for the materials industry nationwide.

are currently teaching over 40 undergraduate courses in Construction Materials Technology, Materials Engineering, Industrial Logistics, and High-Quality Construction Materials. The faculty members also supervise internships for technical staff and graduation projects in these fields. The faculty has also been involved in supervising Master's theses and Doctoral dissertations in Materials Engineering. The specialized group has guided 7 doctoral students to successfully defend their dissertations and numerous master's students to successfully defend their theses.
The group's lecturers have guided students and trainees to win many awards in student scientific research at the university and ministerial levels, in the startup innovation competition, and in outstanding graduation projects, etc.
The group has chaired and participated in the compilation of 18 textbooks, reference materials, and experimental guides for the Construction Materials Technology specialization.
Besides teaching, the lecturers of the specialized group are always passionate about research, exploration, and application of knowledge in scientific research and technology transfer. Many research projects and application results at construction materials production units bear the mark of the efforts of the scientists of the Construction Materials Technology specialized group.
Brief history: The Department of Construction Materials Technology was established in September 1966 under the Faculty of Construction Materials and Sanitary Engineering. At that time, the Department of Materials Technology was headed by Professor Do Thuc Tuan. During this period, the School of Construction was evacuated from Lang Son to Ha Bac. From then until now, the specialized group (Department) has always played a key role in training in the field of Construction Materials.
The Department changed its name to Specialized Group in August 2025.
With many contributions, the Specialized Group was awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal in 1986; and has received numerous awards for outstanding collective labor and commendations from the Ministry of Education and Training, along with many other prestigious awards.
