GENERAL INTRODUCTION

The Faculty of Building Materials is proud to be the first institution in the country to educate engineers in the field of Building Materials Engineering Technology. Over the past years, the Faculty has made significant progress in its training programs, as follows:

a. Undergraduate education
  • Since 1966, the Building Materials Engineering Technology Programme has been continuously educated.
  • Since 2017, the Building Materials Specialization has been part of the Vietnam-France High-Quality Engineering Education Program (PFEIV).
  • Since 2020, the Faculty has enrolled students in the Materials Engineering Programme, which is structured according to the CDIO approach.
  • Since 2025, the Faculty has enrolled students in the Bachelor’s Programme with a specialization in Industrial Logistics, under the Logistics and Supply Chain Management major.
b. Postgraduate education
  • In 1980, the Faculty of Building Materials began offering doctoral programme.
  • In 1998, the first Master program in Materials Engineering was established. Since 2022, the Materials Engineering postgraduate programme has been authorized to offer two specializations: Building Materials and Advanced Materials.
In addition to admitting postgraduate students from the Building Materials Engineering Technology Programme, the Faculty has expanded its enrollment to encompass graduates from a diverse range of other academic disciplines. This expansion ensures that students from various majors can contribute to the field of Materials Science. Concurrently, it has deepened its cooperation with organisations that bridge the gap between academic education and practical application, most notably through its strategic partnership with Viglacera Corporation.
